Montessori Classes Make All the Difference!

Maria Montessori International Academy integrates the Montessori philosophy into everything we do. More than 100 years ago, Maria Montessori championed the idea that education should be rooted in natural settings and real-life activities. Further, that children grow through an environment that encourages them to innovate, explore and discover.

Maria Montessori International Academy’s Classroom Characteristics

Like most Montessori schools, MMIA include multiple ages in its classroom.  Furthermore, we encourage peer-to-peer learning among the varying ages. This is a key component of an authentic Montessori institution.  Younger ones naturally learn from their older peers.  Eventually, they will feel proud to pass on that knowledge as they grow within the classroom.  This interaction is guided by our ASM & AMI certified Montessori teachers, who know how to foster this community of learning.

At a young age, your child will engage in real-life activities. They learn to set the table, garden, cook, wash dishes, and clean up their materials.  Not only do they learn to do it, they love to do it as they are in control of their lives.

Each school also offers a bright, engaging setting. Also, kid-sized everything – Montessori learning materials, gardens, and furniture. This type of environment gives your child the ability to focus and to develop her or his concentration and critical thinking skills.

More importantly, MMIA will build independence in your child.  They will have freedom to choose his or her own activities throughout the day with proper guidance from certified Montessori teachers.  They can work by themselves for blocks of time, which is essential in the Montessori method.  In a time where electronic devices are zapping attention spans, MMIA actively works to build this crucial piece of a solid education foundation.

Education, as well as life, is not a one size fits all.  We cater the needs or your child, as well as your schedule.  Whether you are working or stay-at-home parents, you can choose from our flexible options of Full-Day, Half-Day, and Extended Care programs. With MMIA’s enriched Summer Program, your child can continue to learn year-round. We look forward to welcoming your family into our MMIA family!
